Carnival Sunrise  – Food Waste Segregation projection.

Project Completion: May 2022

In the absence of bio-digesters, maritime operations worldwide legally discharge millions of pounds of unprocessed food waste into the ocean, as permitted under current international maritime law. Regulations only prohibit such discharge within 12 nautical miles from shore, with no global mandate for onboard waste processing. Carnival’s adoption of advanced bio-digester systems therefore represents a proactive step, exceeding current industry compliance standards and setting a new benchmark for sustainable maritime operations.

Scope of Work:

  • Comprehensive survey, feasibility analysis, and engineering design tailored to the client’s operational profile and vessel specifications.
  • Turnkey solution comprising the fabrication and installation of stainless-steel bio-digester tanks, complete with integrated pumps, precision level sensors, and fully engineered piping systems.
  • Delivered with a focus on operational efficiency, durability in marine environments, and compliance with emerging global sustainability expectations.
